The Voice of the Player Committee was established to ensure that the perspectives, needs, and experiences of players and participants remain at the heart of Seattle Pride Hockey Association (SPHA). This committee serves as an independent channel for members, former members, and even non-members to share their insights and experiences, helping SPHA continuously evolve as a community-driven organization.
Unlike other committees, the Voice of the Player operates disjointed from the board of directors and executive leaders to ensure feedback remains unbiased, authentic, and unfiltered. This independence empowers the committee to provide clear, actionable recommendations that truly reflect the voice of the community and players.
By reviewing post-program surveys, creating new feedback strategies, hosting listening sessions, and reaching out to players who have stepped away, the committee gathers real-world insights that guide SPHA’s future. Every recommendation is carefully considered and, where possible, integrated into program planning, tournament operations, and organizational strategy.
Through this work, SPHA affirms its commitment to its three pillars — Opportunity, Community, and Impact — by creating programs that are inclusive, responsive, and shaped by those who matter most: the players themselves.
