Seattle Pride Classic boasts two beautiful, custom, hand-crafted trophies that are presented to the first place teams in both conferences/divisions — the Symetra Cup + the Empowers Cup. These trophies represent our commitment to celebrate our diverse community. The teams get to spend time with their trophy — and yes, drink beer from it — whereafter a plaque with the team and each participants name is affixed to it.
TROPHY STATS
The Symetra Cup was our original trophy built in 2021 and re-built again in 2022 to match the Empowers Cup
Each trophy weighs 32 pounds — a nod to the NHL's 32nd franchise, the Seattle Kraken
Both trophies are made from dozens of recycled hockey sticks donated by Seattle Pride Classic participants and Kent Valley Ice Centre
The trophies were designed and constructed by Ian Johnson and Steven Thompson
Construction of both trophies took approximately 320+ labor hours by both Ian & Steven
