Effective Date: July 16, 2025
Seattle Pride Hockey Association, Inc. (“SPHA”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Statement applies to personal information collected via our websites and mobile application (collectively, the “Sites”), including:
By visiting the Sites and providing personal information or otherwise providing requested personal information, you consent to the collection, storage, and disclosure of your personal information as described herein. This Privacy Statement describes the types of personal information we collect, how we may use that information and with whom we may share it. The Privacy Statement also describes the measures we take to protect the security of the personal information. We also explain how you can contact us to update your preferences or ask questions about our privacy practices regarding how we communicate with you or answer any questions you may have about our privacy practices.
INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE DIRECTLY TO US
Other than as specified herein, all personal information provided by you will be provided with your specific knowledge and consent. The personal information you may provide to us may include:
SWEEPSTAKES & COMPETITION CONTESTANTS
Sweepstakes and competition entrants may provide personal information via the Sites or other methods. By entering, you consent to the collection, storage, and use of your information, and you agree to transfer ownership of all entry materials to SPHA. If SPHA uses third-party vendors to manage contests, we will request that these vendors share entrant information with SPHA in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
Acceptance of a contest prize constitutes permission for SPHA and its partners to use the winner’s name, likeness, and biographical materials for promotional purposes, unless prohibited by law.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT BY AUTOMATED MEANS
When you visit our Sites, we collect certain information by automated means, using technologies such as cookies, web server logs and web beacons.
Cookies are small files that websites send to your computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information or settings in your browser. Your browser may tell you how to be notified when you receive certain types of cookies and how to restrict or disable certain cookies. Please note, however, that without cookies you may not be able to use all the features of our Sites.
In conjunction with gathering of information through cookies, our web servers may log information such as our operating system type, browser type, domain name, and other system settings, as well as the language your system uses and the country and time zone where your device is located. The Web server logs also may record information such as the address of the web page that referred you to our Site and the IP address of the device you use to connect to the Internet.
We may use web analytics services such as Google Analytics. These services may collect your IP address and other browsing data to help us understand and improve how users engage with our Sites. The information collected by the cookies and web beacons (including your IP address) will be disclosed to these service providers, who use the information to evaluate your use of the Sites.
WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES
INFORMATION WE SHARE
We may share personal information we collect on our Sites or otherwise with our partners who perform services on our behalf. These service providers are not authorized by us to use or disclose the information except as is necessary to perform services on our behalf and comply with legal requirements. We may also share certain personal information among our affiliates and joint marketing partners for the purposes described in this Privacy Statement, including for their marketing purposes.
We also may disclose information about you (i) if we are required to do so by law or legal process, (ii) to law enforcement authorities, or (iii) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent harm or loss or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual illegal activity.
We also reserve the right to transfer personal information we have about you in the event we sell or transfer all or a portion of our organization or assets. Should such a sale or transfer occur, we will use reasonable efforts to direct the transferee to use personal information you have provided to us in a manner that is consistent with our Privacy Statement.
YOUR CHOICES
If you would like to update or modify your personal information or subscription preferences, you may log into your mySPHA account and/or contact us as described in the How to Contact Us section below.
You may unsubscribe from emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any promotional email you receive from us. Please note that SPHA uses multiple third-party platforms for its operations (e.g., mySPHA, email lists, surveys). As a result, unsubscribing from one communication may not automatically remove you from all SPHA-related systems, and you may need to unsubscribe from each service individually to stop all communications.
Additionally, if you unsubscribe from all communications, you may miss important program information or be unable to claim a prize in a sweepstakes, contest, or competition where notification is sent exclusively via email.
PLAYER INFORMATION DISPLAY
SPHA maintains Sites that may publicly display player stat information, including but not limited to rosters, schedules, scores, and game summaries. By registering for any SPHA Program, you consent to the public display of your full first and last name on these Sites.
To maintain accurate records and ensure that SPHA—and, when appropriate, fellow players—can access relevant information (e.g., for program eligibility, stat verification, or incident reporting), players may submit a written request to [email protected] to reduce or redact their displayed name:
SPHA is committed to balancing transparency, recognition, and individual privacy—particularly for members of marginalized communities—and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate privacy preferences while preserving the integrity and accessibility of program records.
HOW WE PROTECT PERSONAL INFORMATION
We maintain appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information you provide on our Sites against accidental, unlawful, or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use and other unlawful forms of processing. SPHA is not responsible for data breaches or data loss that may occur on third-party platforms we utilize; however, we make reasonable efforts to partner with vendors that follow industry-standard security practices.
PROVIDING INFORMATION THROUGH THIRD PARTY SITES
Our Sites may provide links to other websites for your convenience and information. Those websites may be operated by entities not affiliated with us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content and privacy policies or practices of any third party including, but not limited to, social media sites and user generated content sites. Linked and other third-party websites may have their own privacy policies which we strongly suggest you review if you visit and provide personal information intended for use by SPHA through any linked websites, social media sites or other third-party sites.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Sites are not intended or directed to children under the age of thirteen and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen on the Sites. If we are notified that we have inadvertently received personal information from a visitor under the age of thirteen on the Sites, we will delete the information from our records.
UPDATES TO OUR PRIVACY STATEMENT
This Privacy Statement may be updated periodically and without prior notice to you to reflect changes in our personal information practice or relevant laws. We will post a prominent notice on SeattlePrideHockey.org to notify you of any significant changes to our Privacy Statement. We will alert you that changes have been made by indicating on the bottom of this Privacy Statement the date it was last updated. These disclosures, terms and conditions may be modified from time to time to be consistent with applicable federal and state law.
